In this article, I support the identification of Alexander Jannaeus as the Qumran-view "Wicked Priest" and Judah the Essene as the "Teacher of Righteousness." Also, that Absalom mentioned in 1QpHab was a brother of Jannaeus. Further, that some other proposed identifications are quite unlikely.

Possibly, in that, why Essenes are not explicitly mentioned in NT.
