I was working from the French text Giuseppe provided. Giuseppe was saying something else still from what you provided from Lidzbarski.

no, no, Kunigunde is correct. I have quoted Couchoud who quotes Lindbarzki with references. Kunigunde has quoted the references in Lindzbarski.

But Couchoud has made my same suggestion, only using the conditional times (something I am not usual to do in my poor English).

I know. Sorry, I didn't want to imply that you made a mistake. I just wanted to point out what Lidzbarski really said. It seems useless to me to discuss this alleged French quote.

why "presumed"? It exists. Are you saying that I am a liar?

Oooh, the boys are very sensitive today ;)

No, I do not say that you are a liar, just that Couchoud misquoted Lidzbarski. Probably Couchoud's German was as good as my English :D

ok, but I don't think that there is an abyss between Couchoud and Lidzbarski. Mary is transformed in a great tree. The tree is symbol of a community, of a Church, not only in famous parable of the seed in Mark. Note that in the Mandean writings this tree becomes the house of birds, if I remember well. So Couchoud is right to quote Lidzbarski: the Mary/tree is simbolic of the Mandeans as a sect.

The rest follows. It is a possibility (that the 'son of Mary' means: heretic mandean) but not one to be rejected easily as Secret Alias does continually.

Miriai personifies the Mandean community.

(R. Sthal, Mandeans and Christian Origins, p. 23)

The chapter 12 of Revelation shows affinities with the story of the conversion of "Miriai" from Judaism to Mandeism.

Even a blind realizes it:

the white eagle who protects Miriai seems to be the same eagle of Revelation 12 who soccurs the Woman escaped in the wilderness.
