Nimrod the Leopard

Post by Ethan »

Whenever the Lexicon comes across a strange word, the usual response is "Probably of foreign origin" and no additional information is given. In regards to the name Nimrod, this means Leopard [נָמֵר] .

In the LXX , Nimrod is Νεβρωδ [ Nebrod ] and this is similar too πάρδος [ Pardos]
-λέων πάρδος > λνπάρδ > Νπάρδ > Νεβρωδ > Νεμρωδ [Nimrod]

In Greek, λέων πάρδος is reversed
- πάρδος λέων > παρδάλεων .

Jer 48:34
Waters of Nimrim [Νεβριμ ]
Isa 15:6
Waters of Nimrim [Νεμριμ ]
Num 32:3
Nimrah [ Ναμβρα ]

Jeremiah 13:23 "Can a leopard change his spots"

Song of Solomon 4:8
Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, with me from Lebanon: look from the top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and Hermon, from the lions' dens, from the mountains of the leopards.

Gen 10:10
Land of Shinar

LIS means Lion in both Hebrew & Greek

ליש גבור בבהמה [Proverbs 30:30]
λὶς ἠϋγένειος [Lliad 17.106]

Barod [בָּרֹד] * Spotted (H1261)

בָּרֹד לַיִשׁ "Spotted Lion"
* BRD LIS > Pardalis (πάρδαλις)

The spots of a Leopard are called rosettes, due to it's rose-like marking and the Greek word for a Rose, is Rodon, from Brodon.

חבר-ברתיו [Jeremiah 13:23 ]
-ἁβρά βρόδον - 'delicate rosettes'
-ἁβρά παρδιαῖος - 'delicate spots'

The Greek word for 'spots' in this verse is Poikilmata "many-coloured, spotted, broidered" and this word is used in Genesis 37:3.

Genesis 37:3 "Coat of many colors"
- כתנת פסים - kĕthoneth Pac
- χιτῶνα ποικίλον - Chiton Poikilos

* Joseph wore leopard skin.

In Joshua 7:21, שנער (Shenir) translates too Poikilos (ποικίλην ) which means שנער , also written שְׂנִיר, this words needs a redefinition.

Deuteronomy 3:9 * Hermon names.
1. Sirion [שִׁרְיוֹן] Gk. Saniwr [Σανιωρ]
2. Shenir [שְׂנִיר] Gk. Sanir [Σανιρ]

In this verse, שְׂנִיר & שִׁרְיוֹן interchange and שִׁרְיוֹן [Shiryown] means "Coat" .

Songs 4:8 - שניר - Gen 10:10 - שנער

Isaiah 11:11 - Hamath & Shinar [שנער ]
Joshua 13:5 - Hamath & Shenir [שניר ]

Shinar & Shenir interchange.

There is a River, that flows from the Lebanese mountains called BARADA [בָּרֹד] , identified with Abana, also written Amana.

2 Kings 5:12
Are not Amana (Or Abana) and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus,.

Songs 4:8
top of Amana, Shenir and Hermon ( the mountain as three peeks)
Lions' dens, from the mountains of the leopards

B(בָ) = M(מָ) Amana = Abana.
