In the Hebrew Bible, there is no 'Red Sea', however the term translates from יָמָּה סּוּף , However יָמָּה doesn't always refer to a Sea, but to the Western direction
Psalms 89:12
The north-west thou hast created them
This verse is similar to Genesis 1, tsaphown (North) yamiyn (West) Bara ( Filled) .
The Four-directions are so-named in Hebrew, but what about Eight?, thus 'North-West' would be יָמָּה צָפֹון and this is meaning of יָמָּה סּוּף that is the mountain known as הַר־נִשְׁפֶּה ( Mount Shaphah )
The Splitting of the Red-Sea
Zechariah 14:2
the mount of Olives shall cleave (בָּקַע) in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
The Epic of Gilgamesh mentions that Mount Hermon split after Gilgamesh kills Humbaba, the Guardian of the Cedar Forest. One translation of Tablet V states, "The ground split open with the heels of their feet, as they whirled around in circles Mt. Hermon and Lebanon split."
The mountain or summit is referred to as Saphon in Ugaritic texts
Red Sea is a Mountain
Red Sea is a Mountain

Read the fuller Psalms
Psalm 89:12
The north-west fattened Tabor and Hermon
Job 37:9
' Cold of the North
North in Job 37:9 is actually מְזָרִים [Mzrim] which is rather similar to מִצְרַיִם [Msrim], see Exodus 9:23 ' LORD rained hail upon the land of Msrim ' , a weather phenomena associated with the region around Mount Hermon
www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jan/07/m ... n-refugees
' Snow and hail fell heavily in Lebanon’s Bekaa valley '
Bekaa is בָּקַע see Zechariah 14:2
