This was definitely an Edelstein topic, in 1936/7. I think its probable that Emma Edelstein wrote most of this article, as with their book on Asclepius (composed in 1934-7, 1939-42).

In that article, Mrs. Harold (née Ruth Meyer) Cherniss is credited as 'his' editor; a scholar herself, I suspect she may have been involved with their 1938 project for the Rockefellers, too. Ruth was close to Emma (p.93). Incidentally, Ludwig succeeded Harold as Professor of Greek at Berkeley in 1948; H. Cherniss is also considered one of the foremost North American Hellenists of the 20th C.
