I am struggling with the Latin as it is not a copy of the Vulgate:
neque ad modicum tempus = 'not a little time.' Is this saying that Paul subjected himself for 'not a little time' i.e. a while or not even a little time?

I believe the full force of the neque ought to be in play: "not even," in this case. So Paul did not subject himself, "not even for a little bit of time."

Thanks. I suspected that was the case but we all have a little Giuseppe in us. Some stronger than others.

O wonder beyond wonders, rapture, power, and amazement is it, that one can say nothing at all about the gospel, nor even conceive of it, nor compare it with anything
Quote apparently comes from a writer called Harnak from an old syriac manuscript, couldn't find out more
