A question about the number 666

Post by FransJVermeiren »

Although there is quasi-consensus that Nero is the man behind the number 666 in Revelation 13, I found two references to Vespasian.
• In his book A New and Original Exposition of the Book of Revelation (1848) William L. Roy links the number 666 to the rabbinical name of the beast: ha-a vad don be-ro-ma-nos.
• In the article The Roman Beast; the 666 Gematria Trinity – Nero, Vespasian and Titus – and the Complete Fulfillment of Revelation 13 the number 666 (when transliterated into Hebrew characters) is linked to a Flavian coin with the text IMP CAES VESP AVG P M COS IIII. (https://revelationrevolution.org/revela ... ommentary/)

Can someone who is familiar with gematria tell if these explanations are founded?

If you are clever enough you can make 666 apply to almost anyone.
