According to Josephus, Pilate was deposed after harshly suppressing a Samaritan movement, arriving just after the death of Tiberius which occurred on 16 March in AD 37. Pilate was replaced by Marcellus.

The deposition of Pilate - and his replacement by Marcellus (a name surprisingly reminiscent of Marcion) ? - is what derived the attention of the Earliest Evangelist about Pilate.

1) If Pilate had to be who replaced the demiurge in the role of who crucified Jesus,

2) And if Jesus himself had to be the Jewish Messiah, and not - absolutely not - the same Snake of Genesis,

...then who better than Pilate could have that role ?

He was the only Roman governor of Judaea who was deposed for the his crimes.

In the previous Gnostic myth, the creator crucified the Serpent and was deposed by a Higher God.

Now, in the recent Judaizing legend, the Roman Pilate crucified the Jewish Christ and was deposed by a higher power.

The "kenosis" of the demiurge is allegorized by the "kenosis" of Pilate.
