Even before adding the Vulgate, this is wildly wrong. Burgon studied א, A, B, C and D and showed they differ immensely.

Here is the first chapter of Acts according to Sinaiticus, Alexandrinus, and Vaticanus:Steven Avery wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 6:28 amEven before adding the Vulgate, this is wildly wrong. Burgon studied א, A, B, C and D and showed they differ immensely.

You seem to be confused. If you put D into the mix, yes, they differ immensely. Nobody talked about D though, as that's Western type (and a very special case of that one), which the text of Acts in the Vulgate isn't from its structure. Nobody is interested in the "variant readings of the Western text of Acts" in this specific context, either. The Western text type is known to be rather diverse.Steven Avery wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 6:28 amEven before adding the Vulgate, this is wildly wrong. Once you take alternate spellings and nomina sacra for the same word into account, there are more identical verses than that.
As long as you define non-identical as identical, then there are many identicals.Ben C. Smith wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 11:02 amOnce you take alternate spellings and nomina sacra for the same word into account, there are more identical verses than that.
There is no reason in this context to count spelling variants and different ways of abbreviating words into nomina sacra. We are interested in the text, not in scribal minutiae. The question is, "Are the same words used?"Steven Avery wrote: ↑Tue Oct 16, 2018 11:12 amAs long as you define non-identical as identical, then there are many identicals.Ben C.
