A criticism of the democracy in Mark?

The fact that Jesus is condemned according to the result of free elections may be considered a criticism of the democracy by "Mark".

From the other hand, there is also a criticism of the Jewish aristocracy.

And Jesus wants the absolute silence about his monarchian claims. And he is clearly opposed to Caesar.

But where was a democracy in the time of "Mark"? Did he know about the ancient Greek democracy and his flaws? Or was sufficient to see the Zealots as example of "democracy"? Did Josephus call them "demagogues"?

Was the point of "Mark" that any form of government is a reflection of the archontic realm, and as such something of evil per se?
