David Trobisch"The Consensus is Marcionite Priority Over Lk"

Post by Stephan Huller »

Just speaking to David Trobisch today on another matter and he happened to mention that he is delivering the keynote at the Marcion conference in Germany tomorrow. As noted above he said in the last few years 8 different scholars have come to same conclusion - Luke is a post-Marcionite reactionary text.

He also said that Sebastian Moll was invited to attend the conference but declined. When I mentioned that he would be the dissenting voice against the 8 there was silence on the other end of the phone.

Here is the conference - http://tu-dresden.de/die_tu_dresden/fak ... -NT-01.pdf

God I regret not getting my PhD on days like this. Would have loved to attend (especially now that Moll isn't there). The shows you the superiority of European scholarship. Compare that with the uncritical nonsense that gets bandied around in English speaking countries.

You mean 8 people are looking at it as a post-Marcionite reactionary text.

"Is" shows unsubstantiated certainty.

good catch

My error, thank you.

But it still applies to what I call their error.

It will depend on how "8 different scholars have come to same conclusion" that "Luke 'is' a post-Marcionite reactionary text" ....

and, it will depend on counter-arguments.

That may be true.

But it remains unsubstantiated at this point in time. I honestly see nothing changing.

b/c you haven't seen the conclusions that have been prepared for this seminar/conference?

b/c you won't read the arguments and conclusions of these 8 scholars?

It's just typical outhouse. Enjoys a drive-by comment but brings nothing to the table.

There are, obviously, no arguments presented in the OP.
