You question, "Is *Ev more Paulinist than Mark?," bears no relationship to the title of the article, viz., "Is the Gospel of Mark Distinctly Pauline?", or to the abstract there. Why on earth ...????

Evidently the implication escapes your attention. If Mark is not Paulinist, then the next question is: who is more Paulinist among the other gospels?

If Mark is not Paulinist, then the next question is:
What dumb jerk thinks Mark is not 'Paulinist'?
The most pertinent question might be: what text, besides Acts of the Apostles, might be as Paulinist as Mark?

Acts of Paul?
Although I feel like the meme: I'm not sure what makes a Paulinist, and at this point I'm afraid to ask.

A Paulinist is an evangelist who bases a lot of midrash on Paul.
In addition to share with Paul the same form in U of the Christ's voyage: descent, death, ascent.

I assume that John Van Maaren has read these books before that he has published this article.
