I have nothing against people who literally take the gospel as some sort of "documented historical record." But then they have to accept the anti-Semitic parts too. As soon as you start fidgeting with this alleged "historical record" you have to accept all of it. As soon as it becomes a buffet of self-affirming prejudices ...
On some level it's either (a) the gospel is a historical document or (b) it's a myth.
