FACT: "Capernaum" means "Place of the Comforter".
Now, the Comforter is known also to be the meaning of 'Paraclete'.
Joseph Turmel has proved, at least in my eyes, that the Paraclete in proto-John is Marcion.
Hence, if 'Capernaum' means 'the Place of the Paraclete', then the hidden meaning is that the Jesus's home is the Marcion's home.
Or there was a prophecy in pre-marcionite terms, about the Comforter coming soon on earth somewhere, and the prophecy was historicized by inventing a 'place of the Comforter', where the Comforter would be descended.
Hence the Marcionite incipit would make more sense insofar it starts just in Capernaum the Jesus's action, whereas in Mark the origin of Jesus is everywhere you can find the house of a pious Jew in need of being baptized by John the Baptist...
