Interesting parts of Holy Qur'an:

Post by JPCusickSr »

The point and hope for this new thread is to post any interesting stuff from or about the Holy Qur'an.

Of course it can be either positive or negative so long as it is interesting.

I myself have several (or more) favorite messages and other stuff for this topic, so I will return to post in due time, but not posting one here in this OP.

Of course anything posted will then be subject to the scrutiny of others.

This is a challenge here:

This is a challenge here:
The Qur'an says (paraphrased and my interpretation) that God / Allah puts the righteous (His ministers) like salt, with a little here and there.

The Qur'an's point was that the salt is spread out as on food, and salt must not be too much nor too little.

This is a continuation of Jesus (Isa) referring to certain people being the light and the salt of the earth, Matthew 5:13-14.

We can figure out the bigger picture from those words of Jesus but it is spelled out more clearly in the Qur'an, because when we apply this to real life then it can be seen how there seems to always be one or two persons in every group who give the group its savor, as like a pinch of salt.

Examples can be seen with each tribe of Indians having at least one Shaman, or as Sigmund Freud pointed out that every little town had its "village idiot" who tried to turn the people around to God and for the town to stop doing wrong.

A more obvious example of the salt metaphor is the late great Mother Teresa of Calcutta, in that she was so flavorful that she gave salt to the entire worldwide Catholic Church.

A pinch of salt goes a long way with a pinch here and there but not too much.

Moral Commandments from the Qur'an

1. Respect and honor all human beings irrespective of their religion, color, race, sex, language, status, property, birth, profession/job and so on [al- Isra' 17:70]
2. Talk straight, to the point, without any ambiguity or deception [al-Ahzab 33:70]
3. Choose best words to speak and say them in the best possible way [al- Baqarah 2:83]
4. Do not shout. Speak politely keeping your voice low. [Luqman 31:19]
5. Always speak the truth. Shun words that are deceitful and ostentatious [al—Hajj 22:30]
6. Do not confound truth with falsehood [al-Baqarah 2:42]
7. Say with your mouth what is in your heart [al—E Imram 3:167]
8. Speak in a civilized manner in a language that is recognized by the society and is commonly used [An Nisa 4:5]
9. When you voice an opinion, be just, even if it is against a relative [al— An'am 6:152]
10. Do not be a bragging boaster [Luqman 31:18]
11. Do not talk, listen or do anything vain [al—Mu'mineen 23:3, al—Qasas 28:55]
12. Do not participate in any paltry. If you pass near a futile play, then pass by with dignity [al—Furqan 25:72]
13. Do not verge upon any immodesty or lewdness whether surreptitious or overt [al- An'am 6:151]
14. If, unintentionally, any misconduct occurs by you, then correct yourself expeditiously [al-E-Imram 3:134]
15. Do not be contemptuous or arrogant with people [Luqman 31:18]
16. Do not walk haughtily or with conceit [al-Isra' 17:37, Luqman 31:18]
17. Be moderate in thy pace [Luqman 31:19]
18. Walk with humility and sedateness [al—Furqan 25:63]
19. Keep your gazes lowered devoid of any lecherous leers and salacious stares [an-Nur 24:30—31, Ghafir 40:19]
20. If you do not have complete knowledge about anything, better keep your mouth shut. You might think that speaking about something without full knowledge is a trivial matter. But it might have grave consequences [an-Nur 24:14-16]
21. When you hear something malicious about someone, keep a favorable view about him/her until you attain full knowledge about the matter. Consider others innocent until they are proven guilty with solid and truthful evidence [an—Nur 24:12—13]
22. Ascertain the truth of any news, lest you smite someone in ignorance and afterwards repent of what you did [Al-Hujurat 49:6]
23. Do not follow blindly any information of which you have no direct knowledge. (Using your faculties of perception and conception) you must verify it for yourself. In the Court of your Lord, you will be held accountable for your hearing, sight, and the faculty of reasoning [al—Isra' 17:36]
24. Never think that you have reached the final stage of knowledge and nobody knows more than yourself. Remember! Above everyone endowed with knowledge is another endowed with more knowledge [al—Isra' 17:26]. Even the Prophet [sallallahu alahi wa salaam — may be peace and blessings be upon him] was asked to keep praying, "O My sustainer! Advance me in knowledge." [20:114]
25. The believers are but a single Brotherhood. Live like members of one family, brothers and sisters unto one another [Al—Hujurat 49:10)
26. Do not make mockery of others or ridicule others [Al—Hujurat 49:11]
27. Do not defame others [Al—Hujurat 49:11]
28. Do not insult others by nicknames [Al—Hujurat 49:11]
29. Avoid suspicion and guesswork. Suspicion and guesswork might deplete your communal energy [Al—Hujurat 49:12]
30. Spy not upon one another [Al—Hujurat 49:12] Do not backbite one another [Al—Hujurat 49:12]
31. Do not backbite one another [Al—Hujurat 49:12]
32. When you meet each other, offer good wishes and blessings for safety. One who conveys to you a message of safety and security and also when a courteous greeting is offered to you, meet it with a greeting still more courteous or (at least) of equal courtesy [An Nisa 4:86]

These 32 are not really my own as they came from the local Mosque in my area.

This is a challenge here:
The Qur'an gives instruction before attacking an enemy to first give notification to those people in charge who are capable of making peace or who can surrender or those who can respond before we attack. ~ Then comes utter destruction.

This is a fundamental doctrine of chivalry.

This tactic is a principle which applies to more than just violent warfare as it is to apply for any kind of conflict.

As like a conflict with a government then do not confront the bureaucracy or the Police because they do not make the laws.

Have a conflict with a big corporation then send the message to its headquarters before taking any action.

This might seem simple enough but the infidels and unbelievers do not comprehend this kind of doctrine.

As like the USA fighting in Syria when the USA does not talk to the opposition leaders and we murder any leader that becomes visible, and so the invaders display no honor nor chivalry and the wrath of God is beckoning.

That notification has been given to the USA and to the West. ~ Then comes utter destruction.

This is a challenge here:
The famous (or infamous) saying of getting 72 virgins after a righteous death is pure nonsense intended to taunt and tease the infidels and unbelievers.

That saying does not come from the Qur'an.

My own thought is that this claim originated during the Christian Crusades where the West is so infatuated by their lust (still are) so that the Christians (white people) would find the idea of 72 virgins as both infatuating and irritating because the hated Muslims would receives these after their deaths.

In the Qur'an and in the Bible and in the East then sexual lust is both a human weakness and it is a sin, so any true Muslim can easily see that the claim to 72 virgins is not a true representation, while the white western Christianity are infatuated and irritated by this doctrine.

There is no greater fun then to severely aggravate thy enemy.
