When you reach the age of reason, will you reject supernatur

What do they believe? What do you think? Talk about religion as it exists today.

Accusing Spong of being a liar is as ridiculous as that little bit of ignorance of how the English language works.
A lie is deliberately saying something you know is not true when you said it in hopes that someone will actually believe the lie.

Spong was not using sarcasm or joking, he was telling a bald face lie in hopes that ignorant audience members would be none the wiser for it.

This used car was owned by a little old lady who only drove it to church on Sundays type of lie.

I see, so you have special powers to know Spong was actually hoping someone in that particular audience was going to believe that our chapters and verses were introduced in the fourth century. You really think Spong is so dumb -- or really think that that audience contained someone that dumb. Return to the beginning and look at who the audience actually was.

Do obviously don't know what hyperbole is and fundamental listening/reading comprehension exercises and lessons might really be able to help you.

You obviously didn't watch the video or at least not all of it.
Otherwise, you have a lot of explaining to do.

Spong had many, many lies.
Lies upon lies and you are trying to justify the lies on what grounds? That a lie is o.k. if it is making fun of people you don't like?

Which satanic morals? Please list at least three.

Thanks in advance.

Genocide as in Nosh's day.
Infanticide as in the story of Pharaoh's and the death of the first born.
The no divorce policy that forces people to stay in abusive or loveless situations.

The substitutionary punishment that this Bishop says will eventually kill Christianity.

Religions are made and maintained by men. Are we all still capable of wishing those terrible punishments on our enemies?-- and of doing it?
Only the insane would do what Yahweh is shown to have done.

The vast majority of us are more moral than God.

Gnostic Christians and Karaite Jews have known this forever and that is why we put ourselves above the imaginary God's that men have created.

Bishop John Shelby Spong is a pathetic liar!

Your video link has him saying that the Ante-Nicene Fathers believed the Bible was the literal word of God. That God dictated it and wrote it and dropped it from heaven, fully written and divided into chapters and verses, in the original Greek language (12 minute mark).

Not even the mythicists and pseudo-atheists on this forum would dare promote a blatant lie like that.

Spong hopes that you will think his Gnostic views have not been considered before and that only enlightened secular progressive liberals of today can grasp what he is promoting (falsely) as the original gospel of Jesus.

I have seen this clever act before to know that Spong knows full well he is deliberately defrauding his customers.

Much like a used car salesman.

Buyer beware!
His was a moral and ideological message which you did not even touch.

Why was that I wonder.

Guilt perhaps. Let's check with a simple question, if you are capable of a simple and straight answer.

Having another innocent person suffer for the wrongs you have done, --- so that you might escape responsibility for having done them, --- is immoral.

Do you agree?

I will give what you put a truth label.

Do you agree that all priests, preachers and imams etc., and all else who preach of a supernatural God are all liars?

Remember that most religions say that God is unknowable, unfathomable and works in mysterious ways thanks to being in a supernatural realm that we cannot even fathom.

Not at all.

However, if I gave you objective examples comparing different religious doctrine (including Gnosticism) with metaphysics, I would risk once again being flagged and banned (falsely) as an evangelical Christian.

Once bitten, twice shy.

Please do not make the mistake of thinking I don't have a basic understanding of the history and beliefs of Gnosticism.

Gnostic Christianity is the moral representation of Christianity.

As John Lennon said, the only good Christian is a Gnostic Christian.
