Re: Gerd Lüdemann's works

MrMacSon, let's not forget to mention what Lüdemann is perhaps the most famous for: He got in trouble with his university for denying the resurrection of Jesus/for not being a Christian. Re: evidence for Christianity before the third Roman Jewish

Didn't the Council of Nicea spend a bit of time and effort finalizing 'doctrine' eg. warding off Arianism?

Re: Christianity in Jewish literature

The theory of the fourth century construction of Christianity is something like the construction of a few decades worth of analysis of the Cuban missile crisis, without any Cubans or nuclear missiles or cold war. (The post-135 origin of Christianity, which I now see is Avi's preference, is not near...

Re: Christianity in Jewish literature

Unless it can be shown that all Paleographers are wrong about the dating of all NT manuscripts before the 4th century then it cannot be argued successfully that the Jesus cult started in the 4th century. For once, I agree. Unless they were re-using materials - paper, parchment or whatever - ie. re-...

Re: What started Judaism?

Hasn't there been increased doubt about much of what has been proposed about Jewish origins, including the Exodus?

Re: Jewish Expulsions / Exile

... There is no evidence for the existence of any Christian writings or beliefs, prior to the conclusion of the third Roman Jewish conflict, which resulted in the forced expulsion of all Jews from Jerusalem ... The final expulsion? ie. expulsion had been going on for decades, started in previous co...
