Re: It is impossible to escape from Marcionite priority

It may just be my perception playing tricks on me, but within Jack Bull's recent and ongoing Patristica video series (as seen on YouTube) Marcus Vinzent seems to not be as confidently forward and direct in confirming Marcion's Euangelion as having preceded and initiated the Synoptics. I'm detecting ...

Re: It is impossible to escape from Marcionite priority

Could you please link me to data on point #7? I would really like to look into this. Lane I'm working from memory, and may not be able to pin down the actual source for this, but I believe (with no guarantee due to lingering uncertainty as to source, but not as to content) that it may be an early y...

Re: It is impossible to escape from Marcionite priority

6) An early and unpublished Euangelion was stolen, and soon after the Synoptics appeared. 7) Per MV, when a story line theme is present within the Euangelion the Synoptics are highly in sync with it, and when not, they have each gone off in independent and unsyncrinized directions. These latter are ...

Re: Is the idea that Mark is not a Paulinist a mere apologetics?

That there was no Mark to begin with, and that there was no Paul to begin with, should be sufficient whereby to assess that there was never a Mark who was a follower of a Paul. That said, there isn't any real Paul evident within Mark, but since ideas have a way of getting around, no one writes from ...

Re: Paul's letters all derived from Marcion?

Paul clearly preached proxy baptism for the dead. Though evangelical, fundamentalist, and even Catholic churches will apologetically jump through hoops to deny this.

Re: The Ignatius letters are too nuch of a mess to say anything

Ignatius letters are said to date to circa 117 CE, and some say that much of their theological dogma could only have intentionally evolved whereby to counter positions held by Marcion. Been there, seen it, done it; didn't bother with the Tshirt: The Ignatius letters are too much of a mess to say an...

John the baptist in the prologue of the Gospel of John

It appears as if verses 6, 7, and 8 are interpolations, as they disrupt the continuity of the prologues poetry.
