Re: Fall of Jerusalem not so foreseeable?

If you can't bring yourself to read/consider the Bible, or Josephus, can you at least read the Dead Sea Scrolls? The predicted fall/rebirth of Jerusalem is well documented. The prophecy of Jesus (Essene?) did not pan out. That is how the sect of Christians came about and the Rabbinic Jews for that m...

Re: here are comments NG deleted from his blog

The "you" in that quote by RG (I was quoting RG), I'm pretty sure, refers *not* to Neil, but to me, SG. (I do not doubt that NG read RG's book.) https://vridar.org/2022/09/25/biblical-creation-accounts-and-plato-1/#comment-239442 Thank you for the link. A cursory look shows Neil's willing...

Re: here are comments NG deleted from his blog

I don’t believe you [Neil] have read Plato and the Creation of the Hebrew Bible in which many of these issues were extensively discussed." Stephen, I said I was done with this thread and I am. However, I still read them and you piqued my interest once again. Perhaps you would be so kind as to ...

Re: here are comments NG deleted from his blog

" The lady doth protest too much, methinks ." Previously, Neil started a thread where he pretends to understand philosophy and how it should be applied on a Biblical Text and History board. It was a total non sequitur of sophistry, unless it was intended to be used as an excuse to behave b...

Re: here are comments NG deleted from his blog

My rule of thumb is: Edit and correct for grammar/clarity in a timely manner, but once someone else responds, it should stand as is. I have deleted accidental double posts of mine (haven't we all?) but deleting an entire post just because you were proven wrong and want to destroy the evidence, well ...

Re: here are comments NG deleted from his blog

On a personal level, I have noted that Neil has deleted entire posts that were nothing more than ad hominem, smart-alleck comments directed at me. However, he never once offered an apology, ever! Editing typos or correcting for grammar is one thing but Neil never, ever apologizes for his ugly person...

Re: "Pure objectivity" is a myth

I do make mistakes and am grateful when people are kind enough to contact me and point them out so I can correct them. Neil, Care to cite an example? You have been proven wrong many times on this forum but where is the retraction let alone an apology? No? You can't even cite one example? Of course ...

Re: "Pure objectivity" is a myth

What is the difference between assigning motives and proving motives? When you quote someone showing their motive, is that not allowed in proving a motive? In court you don't have to prove a motive but present the logic of one. Also, why do people assume that conservatism is a "party line"...

Re: "Pure objectivity" is a myth

Neil has repetitively demonstrated on this thread his ultimate goal has nothing to do with Christian Texts and History. He wants you to " feel " that philosophy proves his atheist beliefs are sound in reasoning and that all others are stupid. Somehow, he " feels " that atheism is...

Re: "Pure objectivity" is a myth

You know that the leftist, Marxist, atheists, went too far (jumped the shark) when even Bill Maher says, let me get off this crazy train.
