I think that those who argue for a pre-Pauline creedal statement have taken notice, not only that the writing is of a different kind than in the surrounding context, but also that Paul says (twice, in verses 1 and 3) that he received this gospel message and (once, in verse 11) that others are preac...

In other words, the difference between the singular and the plural probably represents no greater a concept than that the singular points to a single, quotable passage whereas the plural points to many or all in a generic sense. The distinction is probably not very useful for determining authorship...
