The Judaizers would have favored the idea of an earthly Messiah

The trend towars the materialization (euhemerization) of the mythical Jesus is formed by two factors, basically: the general unability of the hoi polloi (especially if not civilized, see the "fool" Galatians) to represent for themselves a cosmic crucifixion, if not by using earthly images ...

The Archons knew the Plan of God

It seems that the Archons knew the effects of the crucifixion and therefore they wanted to prevent the crucifixion of Jesus. But others say, “No, he betrayed him even though he was good, in accordance with the heavenly knowledge. For the archons knew,” they say, “that if Christ were surrendered to t...

The Christ dancing is a Gnostic Christ judaized by Matthew in a parable

Matthew 11:17:
And saying, We have piped to you, and you have not danced; we have mourned to you, and you have not lamented

Grace danceth. I would pipe; dance ye all. Amen.

I would mourn: lament ye all. Amen.

Re: A thought on the mystery of the passion of the Christ.

I think that the absence of crucifixion of which you talk is merely the absence of the crucifixion as scandalous death. I'm thinking of the earllest sarcophagi (from around the time of Irenaeus and Tertullian) and the catacomb art -- there is no depiction of Jesus' death at all. Jesus is always ver...

When Paul says that he has "been crucified with Christ" , Galatians 2:19-21 19 “For through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of...

Materialize the crucifixion (even if in outer space) = foolishness to Gentiles → O foolish Galatians...

The greatest error of the great mythicist Earl Doherty is not the his speculations on Q about how the myth was euhemerized. The basic great error is that Doherty held still to an earthly image of the crucifixion for Paul, even if he placed that image in outer space (where Doherty is right). Really, ...

Re: A thought on the mystery of the passion of the Christ.

Further, I keep wondering about our non-textual sources, the earliest Christian art: Jesus crucified is not a significant theme at all there. apart the fact that (proto-)Revelation, Didache and James are not Christians at all (in the specific case of Didache, the 12 apostles were originally the 12 ...

Further evidence that the crucifixion in Paul is in outer space

Colossians 2:14-5: ...having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, having led in triumph them in it. ἐξαλείψας τὸ καθ’ ...

One thing I am having trouble understanding about your views on this topic is what embarrassment (whether the raw human emotion or the criterion built upon that emotion) has to do with any of it. but how? Satan has just killed the Son in full knowledge of him , and he is still ruling this world tot...
