Re: The New ChristianOrigins.com "Beta Access"

Okay, the problem seems to be simple. Out of memory errors. They just happened to take down the website bit-by-bit this time, not all at once. The out-of-memory errors have been a problem since I started the site, which I mostly fixed, but apparently not entirely. The simple solution would be to buy...

... Now it's a complete meltdown ... good news, though, I'm working on it (and that kind of problem seems simpler to troubleshoot...) ...

Re: Mythicism--Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love D

In my more optimistic moments, I think that I might possibly be able to put a dent in that wall, to chip away at our ignorance and allow the real light to shine in--but who doesn't? Everyone does. That's part of the real, objective problem. If you think you alone (or you and your cohort) have found...

Re: Mythicism--Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love D

Some discussion here ... with (IMO) all-too-generous stroking of someone very eager to throw doubt however they can (reasonable or not) on a historical Muhammad: http://vridar.org/2015/03/26/did-muhammad-exist-a-revisionist-look-at-islams-origins/ That said, this isn't really on the level of scient...

Re: Mythicism--Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love D

Thanks for a bit of insightful criticism. Is not the issue you raise here a characteristic of all inquiry into cultural knowledge? I don't know why you say we "don't have the means to start knowing the answers" -- unless you're wanting answers as clear-cut as people cannot walk through sol...

Re: Mythicism--Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love D

... My conclusion is that there are no clear winners in that battle, only varying degrees of losers. That conclusion is based very simply on the absence of conclusive evidence to resolve the matter . 'the absence of conclusive evidence' ---- so far. I think what happened with key 2nd and early 3rd ...

Re: Markan priority: an "assured result of modern criticism"

So... don't waste money reading books that contradict each other when you can just come and get a consistent narrative by reading 1 obscure one-man website. Seems legit. Most of these scholars wrote one-man books. And I got many thousands who have hit my page on Q. Maybe not so obscure. Your websit...

Re: Genuine Christian Belief

So, what's your problem? I have 144 IQ, two master's degrees, two teaching credentials, and earned a CPA license, and I don't see any difficulty believing any of these... I recall reading the abstract of a psychology study which looked at the correlation between high IQ and gullibility. The study d...

Re: Do you think that torturing a baby is ever justified?

That's inventive. Thanks for that. Honestly I find it painful just to read this thread title, and so just reflexively dislike this entire thread, so I'm kinda glad someone found a possible loophole (even if it may not strictly impinge on whatever is the point of the OP... whatever that is).

So... don't waste money reading books that contradict each other when you can just come and get a consistent narrative by reading 1 obscure one-man website. Seems legit. You're misreading Kloppenborg's statement of honest hues of doubt in the face of vociferous criticism as backpedaling. Perhaps Klo...
