Re: Gospel of John a Forgery, Johannine Communities Never Existed

Yes, that is true. And it would help explain differences in the approach if there were not such obvious precedents for Revelation 14.14-20 in the prophetic literature. My point is that there is no single detail or image which has to derive from Gittin 57 instead of that literature. This is not, so ...

Re: Gospel of John a Forgery, Johannine Communities Never Existed

And as he came out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher, what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings!” And Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down." Now as soon as th...

Re: Gospel of John a Forgery, Johannine Communities Never Existed

Irenaeus did not ascribed (attributed) the gospels (except Mark) to groups of "heretics", just that those heretics made use of these gospels. how many time I have to repeat that. Are you this inept? Irenaeus states that these heretics used the Gospels of Matthew , Luke and John , and give...

Re: Gospel of John a Forgery, Johannine Communities Never Existed

This point of mine was the secondary one, but let me pursue it here because it was the one that you have responded to. The date of the Talmud itself (in whichever version) is not as important as the date of the traditions passed on within each section. What is the date of this story about blood fer...

Re: Gospel of John a Forgery, Johannine Communities Never Existed

And where would these reasons be given? Look around the fucking site. Gittin 57 is a long text and after browsing through it, I did not see anything about "Hadrian building a vineyard from the bodies of Jews". By the way, there is no vineyard mentioned in Revelation. Talmud Gittin, 57 A-B...

Re: Gospel of John a Forgery, Johannine Communities Never Existed

Irenaeus wrote that Matthew, Luke & John were used by different "heretics" (and not "gives to "heretics""). I do not see why would that affect Mark. Those who are called Ebionites agree that the world was made by God; but their opinions with respect to the Lord are...

Re: Gospel of John a Forgery, Johannine Communities Never Existed

to Joseph D. L., Antiquities was (allegedly) published in the nineties of the first century. How then can you say Mark and Antiquities correspond to each other, but Mark was published no later than 71 ad? Unless you're trying to claim Josephus used Mark, in which case I will bid you farewell. Well ...

Re: Gospel of John a Forgery, Johannine Communities Never Existed

He means this: http://earlywritings.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5321 . But he never responded to my criticism of the idea (in the last post on the thread). I honestly never saw that. This is a quick response to it, but the difference between Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmud seems arbitrary. In...

Re: Why "the 15° year under Tiberius"? Because the 15 of Tybi

An eclipse explains why in all of the resurrection accounts a stone is placed over the doorway to Jesus's tomb, and rolls away on the day of his resurrection. The stone is the moon, and the dawn/morning is the Logos resurrected.

Re: Why "the 15° year under Tiberius"? Because the 15 of Tybi

I have found a curious quote from Abakuk 3:11: Sun and moon stood still in the heavens at the glint of your flying arrows, at the lightning of your flashing spear. The famous miracle of the biblical Joshua regared the sun and the moon delaying themselves, a miracle of judgment on his enemies. And t...
