Does anyone know of recent work, or views, on the question, whether the tomb accepted as St. Peter's by Pope Paul VI was in fact Peter's? I don't see how it's a strong suggestion to say that if the earliest manuscript of a given text is centuries later than the date of its purported composition, and if there existed a motive for someone to forge said text, then the text is likely to be a forgery. By those criteria, we'd athetize most ...

earliest MS of Justin Martyr found

the POxy journal prints a fragment of a fourth century parchment MS of Justin Martyr's First Apology. The find becomes the earliest piece of text of that work. see link:
