Re: The making of Mt/L/Q-stories from Mark

I wonder, Kunigunde, what you make of Luke 13.6-9 ? Did Luke react twice to the cursing of the fig tree, once as a parable and then again as a story about a tax collector? The parable of the barren fig tree in Luke 13 (Lk13:6-9) follows the repent or perish passages, and Luke 13 also has the parabl...

Re: The last Passover (for Bernard)?

On http://historical-jesus.info/hjes3.html you have - regarding the execution of John - John's followers must have been devastated. Some might have despaired and lost interest. But others probably felt the event in Cesarea and the appearance of John were part of a God's plan which had to be fulfille...

Re: History through Seer Stones - Mormon Historical Thought

Don't get me wrong, this thread is not about making fun of Mormons .. the thread is meant to show that even today, in societies that have easy access to lots of information, we can find whole societies that base their ideas of history on stories most of us would simply shake their head about. Sure....

. The making of Luke 19:1-10 “Zacchaeus and the sycamore fig in Jericho” 1) Luke reads Mark 11:12-14 (Cursing the fig tree) Mark 11:13 And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the s...

Re: Bart Ehrman's new book: Jesus Before the Gospels

So I repeat again, as no one yet has risen to refute me: The Passion Narrative was written as a diary entry by John Mark in the midst of the Resurrection appearances by Jesus. The Aramaic portions of Q had been written, at least in note form, by Matthew before the Crucifixion. It was included withi...

Re: History through Seer Stones - Mormon Historical Thought

So, God was once a flesh & blood human who succeeded at improvement and wants us (former angels) to become gods, too. But what about more tangible history, here after the War in the Heaven: Following the war, God and the most advanced spirits then set about planning and making the earth. Once c...

Einhorn outlined time-shift stuff here, as well as reference to robbers, and the lack of documentation of crucifixions in the first half of the 1st C AD/CE -

Re: Jesus alive AFTER Pontius Pilate left Judea??

OK, let's look at Doyle's final date-list and put it side-by-side with Bernard's. Agreement signaled by same icons - It should be noted that Doyle relies on 'Slavonic Josephus' (see below) Doyle' dateline [/b] Bernard's dateline [/b] AD 26 Pilate arrives in Judea. [confirmed] AD 34 Philip ...
