Re: Mythicists met by 'Ignatius'

Therefore the dialogue between Ignatius and the objector is the following: the objector: If I do not find (a certain thing) in the (historical) archives, I do not believe in the Gospel Ignatius: It is written (in the Old Testament) the objector: ‘ That is the very question.’ Considering he is talki...

Re: Mythicists met by 'Ignatius'

Only the Jews could be interested about the right definition of Christ, but the Philadelphians (addressed by Ignatius) were gentiles. Also to gentiles who found it an easy way to disprove Christianity by arguing like a Jew. Therefore we have evidence of gentiles who doubted about the entire Gospel ...

Paul says Jesus was "born of a woman, born under the law" (Gal. 4:4). That's pretty clear.
It says "made" not born. Makes it a little less clear.

Re: Mythicists met by 'Ignatius'

Further proof the letter is about Marcionites not mythicists: 3:2 For as many as are of God and of Jesus Christ, these are with the bishop; and as many as have repented, and have entered into the unity of the Church, these, too, shall be of God, that they may live according to Jesus Christ. 3:3 Be n...

Re: Mythicists met by 'Ignatius'

Mr. Robertson, in the Literary Guide for April, 1926, pointed out that such evidence is contained in the Epistle of Ignatius to the Philadelphians. And the evidence is not affected by the genuineness or otherwise of the passage, which runs :— “ I have heard certain men say : If I do not find (a cer...

Re: The Son of Man = visible body of Jesus

But in Mark the verse had to be changed. The readers of Mark were gnostics. The whole section, the whole story that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgiveable, seems to be made up by the Catholics to mean "if you question our canon, which is inspired by the Holy Spirit, that is unforgi...

Re: The Son of Man = visible body of Jesus

I still don't get why anyone takes "son of man" as anything other than "I" later changed to fake a connection to Daniel that obvioudly does not exist. ...differently from Mark 3:28, that sounds very 'catholic' insofar it hasn't ''son of man'' but ''sons of men'': You're reading b...

Re: 2 cor 5:16 as interpolation

If there is an interpolation in verse 16, I doubt its the whole verse. The first sentence of verse 16 flows well with verse 17, if you change verse 17's therefore to a because: From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh, because if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The o...
