Re: Richard Carrier slams Ehrman's latest book

On Ehrman changing his mind. IIUC Ehrman started working on How Jesus became God a number of years ago. I.E. he wrote Did Jesus Exist after he had already began working on How Jesus became God . If so references in How Jesus became God to Ehrman having changed his mind while researching this book p...

Killing Jesus movie by Bill O'Reilly

Today, Bill O’Reilly did a promotion of his movie " Killing Jesus " on FOX. He claims that it is not a religious movie but a historical movie. That everything in his movie actually happened. Really, O’Reilly? A sneak preview of the movie was played which contain the famous scene; Christ an...

Re: Richard Carrier slams Ehrman's latest book

@GakuseiDon, I have provided on other posts plenty of examples where Carrier gets his sources wrong. He has been called on them over and over again by real ancient history scholars yet he keeps plugging along as if his bogus claims have never been debunked. Why? Because he knows his niche audience (...

Re: Richard Carrier slams Ehrman's latest book

A book review by Carrier Of Bart Ehrman's How Jesus Became God: The Exaltation of a Jewish Preacher from Galilee ... has no place on Christian Texts and History. Just saying. Your opinion: - does not matter - and is clearly wrong But... thanks for sharing... Well then, let me jump into the fray tha...

Re: Jesus crucified on a X

Actually, this topic is considered a trivia pursuit question by most Christians. The claim that Jesus was nailed through the wrist instead of the hands is another one of those trivial but distracting questions. Another example would be how many nails were used at the Crucifixion, 3 or 4? Yet, if I r...

Re: Richard Carrier slams Ehrman's latest book

The obvious shouldn't have to be said except to the fringe element who refuse to acknowledge the obvious. Carrier is trying to sell his books via trashing Ehrman. Carrier is using the taste test (compare and contrast) marketing ploy. If you like the number one selling cola you should try the unknown...

Richard Carrier slams Ehrman's latest book

Well, it looks like Carrier is at it again. Carrier has done a review of Ehrman's latest book; " How Jesus Became God ". Carrier gives several back handed compliments before he proceeds to thoroughly trash it. To Carrier's credit, at least this time he took the time to actually read the bo...

Re: Jesus crucified on a X

I seem to recall that no details on the exact style of crucifixion by the Romans are found in any ancient writings. Crucifixion could have been a "T", "X" or "I" or all three but no one knows for sure. I vaguely remember in; " Killing Jesus " by O' Reilly, tha...
