Re: reported: "Scholars Publish New Papyrus With Early Sayings of Jesus"
So, no, you don't have an argument to justify your claim that your theory is better than the theory that P. Oxy. 5575 conflated Luke with Matthew and Thomas. And you don't recognize the difference between saying 'my theory is equally as plausible as other theories’ and saying 'my theory is demonstr...

Re: reported: "Scholars Publish New Papyrus With Early Sayings of Jesus"
Are you claiming only that another theory can explain the evidence equally well as the theory that the author of P. Oxy 5575 primarily followed Luke 12 but conflated it with material from Matthew and Thomas, so we should not simply assume the latter theory. Or are you claiming that you have another...

Re: reported: "Scholars Publish New Papyrus With Early Sayings of Jesus"
Yep there's nothing here to support this 'syncretic' idea concerning this MS It seems to me that exactly the opposite is the case. This manuscript consists of very few complete words and otherwise parts of words and damaged letters. Someone must have had the idea that it could be a Christian text w...

Yep there's nothing here to support this 'syncretic' idea concerning this MS It follows the ordering of Luke because this is an earlier version of Luke is one explanation One in which the Thomas 63 featured and also replaced in the canonical Luke a non-saying/summary in vs 23 for Thomas 27 Regarding...

Re: reported: "Scholars Publish New Papyrus With Early Sayings of Jesus"
And why do these "experts" inevitably think that any gospel that isn't like Matthew, Mark, Luke and John is the "invention" of the scribe who wrote it? Do they have so little imagination that they CAN ONLY THINK that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are ORIGINALS? It's not even a PO...

Re: reported: "Scholars Publish New Papyrus With Early Sayings of Jesus"
The Luke connection points to Marcion but the Matthew connection points to Hebrews? MLinssen argues for Marcion seems like a strong argument for this... just sayin' I got another idea but it seems Marcion has the edge between these two Textual witness to Luke 12:16 - 12:31 following the order of Luk...

Re: Dr. Sarah's Friendly Refutation of all Mythicism
I don't think so. There are only two sources needed to produce Mark. The Jewish scriptures and the Pauline letters. Paul's opposition to Peter and other apostles is clearly evident in his own letters. Mark focuses on three disciples, Peter, James and John. These three are identified in the Pauline ...

Re: Dr. Sarah's Friendly Refutation of all Mythicism
yes agreed. but it implies there were writings floating around in the names of those other disciples to which Mark was opposed he is not opposed to Peter as such directly, he's opposed presumably to people who quote his authority and equally presumably are not fans of Paul what's interesting is what...
