Re: KRST - Jesus a Solar Myth
Astrotheology explores how Christianity evolved from widespread earlier beliefs about the religious meaning of the cosmos, building upon traditions of the large old civilizations that surrounded ancient Israel. Thanks very much for this interesting topic, and I agree with Gakusei Don, and do hope y...

Re: D. M. Murdock makes mistakes?
During her music video: "Jesus Christ, Sun of Righteousness" (around the 1:42 minute mark) there is a screen shot with Greek words saying: "Jesus Christ God from God Iao". Now that got my ears to perk up! Where did that come from? The basis for Murdock's claim appears to be King...

Paleography is a science of its own sort. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Han_van_Meegeren#mediaviewer/File:VanMeegeren_The_Disciples_at_Emmaus.jpg This painting, from 1936, was regarded as the finest known masterpiece of Johannes Vermeer, who had lived 250 years earlier. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

Re: Carrier's numbers and math in OHJ
IIRC, he does address this, but not in any detail. I don't think he cites anyone like Detering on this, though. I just flipped through the book and couldn't locate it. I would wager that his discussion will not come close to satisfying anyone who maintains that Paul did not exist. Will his explanat...

I didn't know what scandal you meant; your google link is only to photos. :D The photos demonstrate that she is in the 1%. The scandal is the logical consequence of a female, with that appearance, showing up in a hot climate, to participate in a male dominated activity, with a shortage of water.......

Re: D. M. Murdock makes mistakes?
From your source I found the following interesting. . Thanks for your reply, Arnold, um, yeah, I had seen that, but didn't mention it, because I can't find any reference to support that claim. I am not writing that I deny the author's statement, maybe the Aztecs did adhere to such notions, I don't ...

I hesitated over where to post this interesting review. I hope it's not too neglected in this Classical Texts subforum! I can understand your anxiety: https://www.google.com/search?q=colleen+manassa+egypt&client=ubuntu&hs=WzR&es_sm=122&tbm=isch&imgil=Hq8Q7bXqGa2jBM%253A%253Bc8VJ...

Re: in defence of astrotheology
Those that believe in Astrotheology believe only in what they want to believe, regardless of the historical evidence. Do you express doubt about the stones bearing the image of the ζoδιακoς κύκλος ? http://www.ancient-wisdom.co.uk/zodiac.htm Do those stones not represent "historical evidence&q...

Re: D. M. Murdock makes mistakes?
There are quite a few Greek spelling mistakes, as if someone tried to OCR the article and had to correct the ancient Greek (which no OCR program seems to be able to handle very well) with limited knowledge of the forms of the letters. It kind of make it difficult for me to want to follow ... Sorry....

Re: D. M. Murdock makes mistakes?
Perhaps this will prove usefulBut there is nothing more than Philo or someone or 'someones' like Philo at the beginning of Christianity. Silly assertion-based argumentation.
