Re: The Tale Wagging The Dogma. Which "Mark" Wrote GMark?
No, if you want to show that Jesus is a mythical figure, you have to have evidence. Pretending that other histories are myths not only fails in itself but doesn't touch on the subject of Jesus being a myth. I'm not a "mythicist" in that I consider it much easier to makes sense of the whol...

Re: Thoughts on Maurice Casey's new book
Casey's "chaotic model" of Q denied that Q was ever an "it" "that had been written down at one point". It was a piece of writing here, another scrap of writing there, something else by another person over there . . . . Yup, that's how it sounded to me. My question stan...

Re: Thoughts on Maurice Casey's new book
Casey had what he called a 'chaotic' model of Q. Is that really that much different from the idea that it had been written down at one point? At least I don't see why anyone would get into vicious debates about it. The only question worth arguing about in this case is whether Luke used Matthew or s...

The multitude of pointers towards the destruction of the temple in that gospel make me prefer a date of 70 and later for the composition of the whole. Parts seem to be slightly earlier, like the exorcism of the Gerasene demoniac, which I would place in the late 60's.

Re: The Celestial Pole in the Apocalypse
So from all the evidence I have looked at, the Babylonian Leopard (or Panther) has nothing to do with Ursa Minor. That comment is insulting toward Professer Binsbergen and the sources he lists. You are saying these sources, such as Jensen, are not included in what you call "all the evidence&qu...

So from all the evidence I have looked at, the Babylonian Leopard (or Panther) has nothing to do with Ursa Minor. I have marked Ursa Minor in green and the Babylonian Leopard in blue in this constellation boundary chart . If you prefer a chart of the northern hemisphere, look here . Ursa Minor is at...

Re: The Celestial Pole in the Apocalypse
If you can read German, there's also the texts by Franz Kugler. They are readable in full online, but it's difficult.
Or you trust the summary by Gary D. Thompson. It's basically the same information for Leopard/Panther (Cygnus + Pegasus + α Andromedae).
It does not appear from Florisoone's evidence in his Astres article that Leopard was the Babylonian name for Ursa Minor.
All I find is Leopard as Cygnus + part of Pegasus.
