Re: Inquiry regarding the Christ hymn of Philippians 2.6-11.

Well of course its a name - just as all things called "horse" are named horse, all things named "man" have the name man. Its very Platonic. Its above all particular names for the thing named man because it was the name God gave to all men. Schwartz notes that DSS seem to have a v...

Re: Might John and Matthew Have Switched Places in Order?

I had to admit it at 4 am in the morning when I was writing so I could go back to sleep. My son had me up getting a glass of water

Re: Might John and Matthew Have Switched Places in Order?

I don't know that this isn't a stupid question so how could I be belligerent about "stupid answers"? In response though: 1 I am not sure "Luke" wrote Acts or just edited a pre-existent text (just as Clement reports he did for Hebrews) 2 I am stuck with the idea that Matthew knows...

Re: About a messianic prophecy from the Sibylline Oracles. .

Re: About a messianic prophecy from the Sibylline Oracles. .

Re: About a messianic prophecy from the Sibylline Oracles. .

And all the Fathers say Jesus was there with Abraham, wrestling with Jacob, in the fire with Moses. Why is there this retarded resistance to the idea that IC = Eesh. How do you think you'd pronounce the letters iota sigma?

Re: About a messianic prophecy from the Sibylline Oracles. .

Come on, it's IC not Jesus. You're falling into sleepy time logic. The Origen manuscripts have a nomen sacrum not Jesus. All the Church Fathers too.
