Re: New Mythicist Evidence: Gospel of Philip 9
The "Philip 9" lineation is from Internet sites only .... R. Wilson uses the same versification as Giuseppe in his 1962 translation and commentary of the gospel of Philip. His commentary follows the versification (which makes more sense than following the page and line numbers). No, he do...

Re: New Mythicist Evidence: Gospel of Philip 9
As I said before, the Gospel of Philip is really an overlooked text. There's all kinds of weird stuff lurking in there.

Re: New Mythicist Evidence: Gospel of Philip 9
The "Philip 9" lineation is from Internet sites only, not the Brill edition, and I learned from R. Joseph Hoffman and Bart Ehrman that nothing on the Internet is trustworthy.

Re: New Mythicist Evidence: Gospel of Philip 9
The correct lineation is Philip 53:6-9 (Nag Hammadi Codex II, Tractate 3). There is no "Phillip 9." "It was not only when he appeared that he voluntarily laid down his life, but he voluntarily laid down his life from the very day the world came into being." -- Isenberg's translat...

Re: 'First Century Mark' Now Dated to Second/Third Centuries
https://brentnongbri.com/2018/06/12/first-century-mark-and-second-century-romans/ There you go. It implies that "First Century Mark" was supposed to be part of the early scraps mysteriously acquired by "The Green Collection" in 2011. The article also quotes Steve Green giving th...

Re: Titles of the gospels
If the original titles of the gospels were not the traditional titles, do you believe that they were originally untitled, or that they had other titles which were later excised? If originally untitled, how common was that in antiquity, for literature similar in length to the gospels? Perhaps one wo...

Re: Fragments Don't Lie But...
JW : Oh for Moses sake, I fear Jesus might actually return before CBS (Christian Bible Scholarship) puts the possible timetable together: 1) 2011 = Obbink discovers the fragment of GMark. 2) 2012 = Obbink lets it be known that there is a fragment of GMark that does have evidence of a first century ...
