Re: The phrase εἶπεν δὲ in Luke and in the Marcionite gospel
I just came across this reading Sturdy's Redrawing the Boundaries p50 There are a number of significant differences in linguistic usage between Luke and Acts. These are listed in various works, classically perhaps by Hawkins in his Horae Synopticae (1909). The similarities between the two texts are ...

Re: Does Luke edit Mark with more primitive data?
It is extremely dangerous to try and use 1 Corinthians 11:22-32 as evidence of anything early. The entire passage is considered by many critics as an interpolation. It is not attested in Marcion, and includes themes which are at odds with Marcion's Paul, such as receiving traditions. This is more l...

1 Cor 11 23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same way He took the ...

Re: On the fabricated mythicist "Pauli"...
The only problem I have with that last option is it seems once we have full acknowledgement of the gospels, then church father writings change to plenty of examples of "jesus said...", "as the Lord says...". The only example we have in the epistles is the Lord supposedly saying p...

Re: On the fabricated mythicist "Pauli"...
Well Price does date the gospels to the mid to late 2nd century and there's the issue of dating Marcion by the claims of the heresiologists. If we go by Huller's Alias then we also have the issue that Marcion means those of Mark.

Re: Luke's remains
Where "ancient church" is defined as all called Christians during the first five centuries (i.e., antiquity), is there really any doubt about " some fairly murky goings on and considerable dishonesty "? So we have the remains of an elderly man, most likely of Syrian extraction, ...

That's me doing the wall of text this time, and I was just pulling stuff that seemed relevant to the Marcionite-Two Powers breadcrumbs secret Stephan has been dropping
