Re: Are there hints of a Gnostic Jesus within the Canonical NT?
"The Spirit gives life the flesh counts for nothing" has a nice wholesome gnostic ring to it "You have the words of eternal life" (Ahem, isn't it supposed to be the cross that saves? Jesus get with the program or no council of Nicea for you!) Gnostic Christians venerate our fles...

Re: Are you a God in waiting, or have you stepped up to your destiny?
Yeah. Chathars' perfect weren't enlightened, distant Buddha figures. They were active leaders of their society. This strengthens the argument. If you admit to being the driving force behind God, and you seem to, as we all are, then should the people making the rules for God and society not be under...

Re: Are you a God in waiting, or have you stepped up to your destiny?
But according to Tripartite Tractate, none of us are gods. The difference between God and man is - the former only exists for others, while men exist for others and for themselves, as well. Gods don't control destiny. In the end, men control gods. So why would anyone want to achieve Godhood? Gen3;2...

Are you a God in waiting, or have you stepped up to your destiny?
Are you a God in waiting, or have you stepped up to your destiny? If one is created in God’s image, as you and I are, and can know good and evil, as most of us do, then if you believe the scriptures, you have reached Godhood. Gen3;22 Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; ...

Re: Are Gnostics the Village Idiots?
i guess the term "gnostic" was orig meant as a slur? Actually, the opposite was true as they were the intelligentsia. The first to be killed and persecuted by all religions who use inquisitions and jihads. The good Christians is how they were known, because they walked their talk and had ...

I know, but was answering his position rather than him. Ah, ok. I wonder if it is advisable to be quite so gnostic? You don’t care to hedge your bets up there, even a little? Why not choose the best of the lot? Regards DL ”why not eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge?” :confusedsmiley: That is wh...

Re: Just Who is GOD?
"Gnostic Christians" are loyalist revolutionaries I think that that label fits. That is how we see Satan. A Loyal Opposition. That suits well with the story the bible tries to tell, even as Christians see Original Sin, instead of the Jewish label of Original Virtue. Christians are calling...
