Re: Stephan Huller's 'horrible' book

When I read Stephan's book a number of years ago I thought it was rather decently presented. It held my interest and educated me. I've never understood why Stephan has considered it an embarrassment for so many years now.

Re: the "LXX as Christian-created" hypothesis, and Philo

The original LXX was comprised of only the Torah (Pentateuch). Any LXX which contains the books of the major Profits, minor Profits, the Apocrypha, etc... is fake. And any such LXX is likely intended to conform with corruptions found necessary to comply with the NT message.

Re: John's Gospel - The human prophet Jesus and two powers in heaven

John's gospel is saying explicitly that the Father of Jesus is not the God of the Jews. And that the God of the Jews fathered the Devil. The monad / dyad pairing 'battle' per The Gospel of John is thus: Formerly unknown Father / Jesus vs. God of the Jews / Satan (Devil) This seems to potentially mak...

Re: Cerdo as Anti-Christ

In Spanish, Cerdo means Swine or Pig. Could this Spanish word retain within it any distant memory of (or association with) the Cerdo who was presumed to have been an influence upon Marcion? An admitted stretch here, but might the Jews have rejected eating swine due to an association of swine with th...

Re: The Sarah-vs-Hagar allegory in Galatians 4:21–31

Remove 'the Jews are of Hagar, and the Christians are of Sarah' and the Christian claim of having originated from within the confines of Judaism is destroyed. As is any strained effort to find Christ within passages twisted and contorted and even altered from the text of the 'OT'. There is not a sin...

Re: The Sarah-vs-Hagar allegory in Galatians 4:21–31

Chrestians were not Judaics, perhaps some converts among them, and some of them surely had a Hebrew background, just like I have a Christian background that died decades ago. But I don't see why "Gentiles" would not be allowed to join, nor would something like that facilitate their explos...

Re: The Sarah-vs-Hagar allegory in Galatians 4:21–31

One might presume that if a real Paul ever spoke before a real audience of Jews (or even gentiles for that matter) one of them at some juncture might have asked him to kindly explain some facts about Jesus origins and life and how he came to be a god, the details of his ministry, his death, and his ...

Re: The Sarah-vs-Hagar allegory in Galatians 4:21–31

Jerk out the foundational cornerstone of the gentiles being of Sarah and the Jews being of Hagar and you have collapsed Paul's entire intellectual ground breaking structural framework, leaving him with nothing to stand upon. Paul's unique revelation that he contends came from God and not from man, p...
