The Pesikta de Rav Kahana says "this" in Hebrew זה was taken to mean twelve by Aramaic speakers.

Whoa! Have you UNDERSTOOD what you're reading? Please cite me where it says that when Mary is mentioned in the gospel it refers to the cult of John the Baptist? Bet you no such reference exists.
