Re: Who is 'the Teacher of Righteousness"?

At least with Trumpism the underlying irrationality and appeal to disinformation can be explained as only a tool for something more core to human behavior (racism, sexism, greed, resentment, hatred of humanity, undesirable people who can't get laid etc). That I get. Will to power, the big lie - we'...

Re: Who is 'the Teacher of Righteousness"?

But still more plausible than 'the teacher of righteousness' being a Christian figure. And what a surprise! I can see JohnT has appeared for this 'good cop/bad cop' schtick to follow (John2 setting up a calm rational approach and JohnT the rabid pit bull - both defending Eisenman both miraculously ...

Re: Who is 'the Teacher of Righteousness"?

Ok buddy. The C-14 dated closes the books on Eisenman and his theory. It's that simple. Maybe you can move Christianity into first century BCE or beyond. But stop playing dumb. If my father dies (and he has) and everyone knows he's dead and I go on a forum claiming I've had contact with him, spoke ...

Re: Who is 'the Teacher of Righteousness"?

...until Eisenman came on this forum under a pseudonym. Why is it preferable for anyone but Eisenman to assume that there is a conspiracy to falsify C14 evidence which makes his theory implausible? ...Only that it is better than what Eisenman2 has been posting in this forum. There is a conspiracy b...

Re: Immemorial earthly Jesus versus recent celestial Jesus

To John T.: I Think that to interpret "I saw neither a heaven above nor a firmly founded earth, but a place chaotic and horrible" as a place on the earth (and not as the more low place of the lowest heavens between the earth and the moon) is not correct. Enoch placed the hell in the Lower Heavens, ...

Re: Immemorial earthly Jesus versus recent celestial Jesus

I think that you should use a better meaning for "earth" in your same words: demons can't leave the sublunar realm (not only the mere earth). They will be destroyed there. Ephesians 6:12 makes my same point: For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the author...

Re: Why it 's surprising that Paul didn't mention Pilate

The Emperor Julian also found it surprising that no one of the time mentioned Paul. for nowhere did . . . Paul hand down to you such commands. The reason for this is that they never even hoped that you would one day attain to such power as you have; for they were content if they could delude maidse...

Re: Immemorial earthly Jesus versus recent celestial Jesus

According to the Dead Sea Scrolls, demons are the displaced souls of the giants (off-spring of the fallen angels) destroyed in the flood. The fallen angels are imprisoned in the abyss until judgement day. There is no saving of fallen angels. Sincerely, John T thanks for that but where is the object...

Re: Let the reader understand... Again

Can someone explain to me what the reader is supposed to do with their understanding in Mark 13:14-17? If it refers to the first Jewish war, then isn't it too late to be issuing warnings to flee? It sounds like the author knows what happened. The nod & wink to the reader doesn't seem to make sense ...
