Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?

There you have it Ben just as I predicted. Facts do not matter to the trolls in the peanut gallery. Have they ever? So, once again, does it even matter if Acts 8:37 could fit on p45? At least now you kinda of sort of admit that there maybe some extra space between lines four and five for Acts8:37. H...

Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?

Another fun exercise, an attempt to take a slightly different approach. Here are the character counts (not counting spaces) for the individual verses in Acts 8.34-40 (including verse 37): 34: ΑΠΟΚΡΙΘΕΙΣΔΕΟΕΥΝΟΥΧΟΣΤΩΙΦΙΛΙΠΠΩΙΕΙΠΕΝΔΕΟΜΑΙΣΟΥΠΕΡΙΤΙΝΟΣΟΠΡΟΦΗΤΗΣΛΕΓΕΙΤΟΥΤΟΠΕΡΙΕΑΥΤΟΥΗΠΕΡΙΕΤΕΡΟΥΤΙΝΟΣ [100 c...

Re: Did Hegesippus break the equation "James brother of Lord = Son of Zebedee"?

I'm not sure exactly what Giuseppe is saying. What I said in the book is that James son of Zebedee was intended to represent the James who Paul met and talked about in his letters. That James was later misidentified by church leaders as the literal brother of Jesus, and thus led to a false split be...

Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?

Hang in there Ben,

My computer guru will be stopping over tonight after work and to see if he can get unicode for Koine Greek to work on Word 2016.

If so, I should have a more detailed post tomorrow, hopefully with pictures.

Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?

I see the mountain is still in labor. I'm waiting with bated breath. To be fair, it takes longer to do impossible things than it does to do possible or, better yet, probable things. Actually, getting the Greek to fit was the easiest part but you already knew that. That is not to say it was included...

Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?

Try this: http://www.typegreek.com . Just use caps lock for majuscules. It should come out something like this, if you are omitting spaces like the manuscript does: Thanks for the help. My computer guru is here but he is fixing two other computers, I hope when he is done he will take a moment and s...

Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?

John T, I will have to guess on the exact margin cut-offs, since what we have is from the middle of the column and I do not know for sure how centered it is within the original column. You have already accused me of acting in bad faith (by "pranking" you somehow, in a way that is not at all clear t...

Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?

It's very difficult for someone who (1) wants something to be true and (2) is used to getting what they want to (3) stop, think and admit they are wrong without (4) the threat of a physical beating. Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?

Now that Ben is no longer playing games at my expense... I still don't have the slightest idea what you mean by this. Ben's posts in this thread have all been very helpful. ... and taking my point seriously, I have something to work with. With that being said, I freely admit that Ben has the strong...

Re: Who axed Acts 8:37?

Note that line 4 in the second image is wrapped. It's basically the same image as before (well, the first image already explained everything). Note also that it doesn't matter whether the preserved block is from the left edge, the center or the right edge. The space between the end of one line and ...
