Why I said that was "probably" mistaken is because he, and many others, for many years, have looked and found no such thing.
What is "no such thing"?

Merely, that it (of any date!) would probably have been brought forward by now.
Why do you immediately jump to that instead of wondering if there was some publication?

Re: Greek Monks Who Thought the Letter to Theodore was in the Mar Saba Monastery Before Morton Smith Arrives

If such a 16th- or 17th-century mention in a publication existed, probably someone would have noticed it by now. The Voss book was published in 1646, so any 16th-century (1500s) text could not have been about that volume. You seem to be misreading the quote in two ways: He remembers someone noting ...

I kinda don't get it. Hanging around at creation but not the Son? An angel perhaps, given a promotion? I think Ehrman believes something along those lines, though I haven't looked into that. The "sending his Son" language (Rom 8:3, Gal 4:4) may suggest otherwise. I also tend to discount p...

Were the Marcionites the keepers of the original Christian faith? (1) Was their faith represented by the original Pauline epistles? If so, where did the author of the original Pauline epistles get his ideas from? Are you referring to the Marcionite versions of the Pauline gospels? or, Are you refer...
